Getting Around Al Wakrah

By Bus/Metro
Mowasalat, the public transport company in Qatar, operates bus services in Al Wakrah connecting it to other parts of the country. Bus routes and schedules are available online and at bus stops.
The L 543 bus (Al Wakra Bus Station – Circular Via Wukair Ezdan Oasis) is a circular line with 35 stops departing from Al Wakra Bus Station, the total trip duration for this route is approximately 53 minutes. The buses operate Sunday – Thursday, and Saturday.
Qatar is working on developing a metro system, which does include a line passing through Al Wakrah.

Al Wakrah is a city located in Qatar and is situated about 10.5 miles southeast of Doha, the capital of Qatar. The city is located on the eastern edge of the Persian Gulf.
How do I get to Al Wakrah?
Al Wakrah is well-connected to the rest of Qatar through a network of highways and main roads. The M134 and Al Wakrah Main Road are two of the main roads that connect Al Wakrah to other parts of the country. Visitors can conveniently reach the city by car or public transportation, with well-connected roads leading to Al Wakrah from various parts of Qatar.
The Route 109 and 119 buses pass through the Al Wakrah. Both leave from Al Ghanim Bus Station in Doha, with the 109 heading towards Mesaieed or Al Wakair, and the 119 terminating in Al Wakra. The frequency of both routes combined is about 5 to 20 minutes, with the journey time to the town center being half an hour. There are different timetables for Saturday – Thursday and Fridays.
The Doha Metro Red Line connects Doha to the northern edge of the city. Multiple bus routes are available, such as M129 for inside main city, M134 covering some outskirts of main city and M127 to Souq Wakra. The metro takes about 40 minutes from Doha.
The bus and metro combination is recommended for those who want to get a glimpse of the local life. For the quickest way, a taxi is the way to go, but it will cost you more.
