Stresa is the most famous and elegant town on the lake, characterized by its Art Nouveau architecture and refined atmosphere. It serves as the primary gateway to the Borromean Islands and features a magnificent lakeside promenade lined with grand villas and flowering gardens.
Highlights of this neighborhood: Borromean Islands access, Villa Pallavicino (with its zoological park), the Mottarone cable car, and Piazza Cadorna.

2nd: Verbania

Verbania is the largest town on the lake and is actually a collection of several distinct districts like Pallanza and Intra. It is known for its incredible botanical beauty and is home to the world-renowned gardens of Villa Taranto. It offers a more local, lived-in feel compared to the purely tourist-focused hubs.
Highlights of this neighborhood: Botanical Gardens of Villa Taranto, Villa Giulia, the colorful old town of Intra, and the lakeside promenade of Pallanza.

3rd: Cannobio

Located on the northwestern shore near the Swiss border, Cannobio is a picturesque and historic town with brightly colored buildings overlooking a small harbor. It maintains a charming medieval character and features one of the best sandy beaches on the lake.

4th: Baveno
