The island is rarely affected by hurricanes due to its location on the southern edge of the hurricane belt. The busy time and peak season on the island are from December to April with the arrival of winter crowds, and perfect weather conditions compared to those in the US and Europe. The price of accommodations, airfare, and attractions during this time are higher. The rainy season is a much quieter time to visit the island with peaceful beaches that are less crowded and resorts and restaurants are not busy and rates are a lot lower.
