Playa Caletas
Situated on the southern Nicoya Peninsula, this is a tranquil, unspoiled beach area that is considered one of the best for surfing in Costa Rica. It is a picturesque location for relaxing, with a pleasant offshore breeze. This region is a hidden treasure, with lush rainforest surroundings that provide many opportunities for outdoor adventures.

Playa Esterillos
Playa Esterillos is a beautiful beachside destination located on the Central Pacific Coast. The area consists of three regions: Esterillos Oeste, Centro, and Este, forming a small beach village with a laid-back vibe. The sand is chocolate-colored, and the ocean is a sparkling turquoise. The beach is lined with lush green rainforest teeming with wildlife.

Playa Herradura
This beachside community is named for its secluded, horseshoe-shaped bay. It was originally a small fishing village but has been transformed into a desirable destination. It is home to a magnificent marina, which is known as Costa Rica’s fishing capital. The area is also close to the sprawling Carara National Park.
Highlights: Los Suenos Marina, big game sportfishing, galleries, boutiques, restaurants, nightlife, and nearby Carara National Park for zip lining and hiking.

Jaco Beach
Jaco Beach is a surf-side mini-city and a hot spot for tourists. It is the closest and most developed beach town to San Jose, offering a wide array of restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. Known for having some of the best waves in the country, Jaco attracts surfers of all levels. The surrounding landscape remains green all year long due to the nearby Tarcoles River.
